• Instructions for Using KLEEN KOTE in Vessel Cargo Holds When Hauling Powder Cement - Mix Ratio 8 to 1 thru 11 to 1 -- Depending Upon Results (best to start at 11 to 1 ratio) - Use KLEEN KOTE to keep Cement from sticking to or damaging the cargo hold or deck area. It is an environmentally safe, easy to use alternative to traditional methods of protecting hold and deck area. It also provides rust inhibiting qualities to help prevent corrosion. • Tips for Use - Remove all previous release agents and/or other chemicals from the cargo hold prior to applying KLEEN KOTE to eliminate any adverse reaction between KLEEN KOTE and any chemical residue previously left behind. - When transporting Cement, spray the entire cargo hold and deck area with KLEEN KOTE before EVERY load. - KLEEN KOTE must turn from white to clear after it is sprayed in the cargo hold or on the deck area before you start loading. - After unloading, wash the entire hold with a power washer. ALWAYS WASH FROM THE TOP DOWN! You must reapply KLEEN KOTE before transporting your next load. - KLEEN KOTE can be applied to a damp surface. • Instructions - Step 1 – Determine Your Mix Ratio > Please see the above starting mix ratio. Ratios can be adjusted based upon your results. They may be adjusted up or down in one part increments to achieve optimum results. > NOTE: The more concentrate you add the thicker and more protective KLEEN KOTE will be. - Step 2 – Mixing > Using a clean container, add KLEEN KOTE and water to achieve the recommended ratio for your application. Adding KLEEN KOTE to water and then adding more water will eliminate the need for mixing. Do NOT mix with diesel, fuels or oils. Do NOT mix with other release agents or sea water. - Step 3 – Application > KLEEN KOTE may be applied at any time. For best results, the application surface should be cleaned prior to application. Remove all other chemicals before applying KLEEN KOTE. - Step 4 – Spraying > Spray on and then let change from white to clear before loading. If KLEEN KOTE freezes on the surface you are treating, it will still work. Reapply after every use. - Typical Coverage Rates > 1 gallon of mixed KLEEN KOTE will cover approx. 2000 square feet, depending on the surface type. Spray on for best performance and ease of application. • Notes - KLEEN KOTE is a reactive release when used with cement based products. If it is washed away after coming in contact with cement, it will need to be reapplied because it will have already reacted with the cement. FOR EXAMPLE: If you have treated the deck of the ship, begun loading and are stopped by rain fall, the deck surface will need to be re-treated because the initial treatment will have been rinsed away. HOWEVER, if KLEEN KOTE has been sprayed on, gone clear and no contact with cement has occurred you will not need to reapply the product if it rains. - DO NOT switch back and forth between KLEEN KOTE and other release agents due to incompatibility. - You do not have to wait for the hold to dry after cleaning. KLEEN KOTE may be applied directly to a wet hold. - In freezing weather, mix product as needed. Concentrate will not freeze however premix may freeze. • If you have any questions regarding the use of this product please feel free to contact Customer Support by telephone: 800.801.7832 – 847.639.7272 or via email: support@4progressive.com.
